There’s a lot to be afraid of in the world at the moment. One day Paris is attacked, the next day Russia shoots 26 missiles into Syria. The next day NSW changes its 20-year-old terrorist policy, to a ‘Shoot First’ policy, and asks the FBI for special training.
Never in my life have I felt a greater need to pray for the world, than I do right now. Things are changing quite radically at the moment, so much so that we can be quite sure that all of this will end up being a history exam question one day.
Please Friends, pray. Keep praying for everything that’s happening at the moment, and keep praying for the Kingdom come!
I am so thankful for the rock that is God’s truth, his promises never fail and his love is unfailing.
I have hope in the salvation of Jesus Christ, despite the fear in the air, knowing that this will not last forever.
If you are feeling worried about everything that is going on right now, I encourage you to talk to the Creator of this World, Yahweh, the God of the Bible.
Reading the Bible is a real comfort to me through this troubling time. Some of the verses that are really significant to me right now are 1 Peter 5:6-7, Psalm 94:19 and Joshua 1:9. They are really worth pondering, at least as much as you think about all of the news headlines.
“Humble yourselves, then, under God’s mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:6-7
“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.”
Psalm 94:19
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
Bless you, my friends. I hope you can find peace in this time of chaos.
